Fifth Third Bank Extends Availability of Scholarships for Job Seekers through Brand of You Campaign
07/24/2015
Cincinnati– Fifth Third Bank today announced the extension of its Brand of You integrated campaign, the details of which are available at www.53.com/BrandOfYou. Fifth Third Bank understands that getting a job is anything but easy, especially for recent grads, more than half of whom don’t have full-time jobs. On average, at least 200 people apply for every job opening and only two percent of applicants actually get an interview.* The Brand of You campaign aims to help grads land jobs by offering job coaching scholarships from reemployment solutions company, NextJob, which are valued at $1,000 each.
"Our Brand of You campaign has been extremely well-received by recent graduates and their parents," said Maria Veltre, executive vice president and chief marketing officer. "As the campaign continues to gather positive momentum, we have decided to keep the campaign—and the offer of these coveted scholarships—open longer to help even more people get set up for long-term success."
Fifth Third has committed to funding $1 million worth of the job coaching scholarships. To apply, interested participants can enter by Tweeting an answer to the following statement: "Tell us why you deserve free one-on-one job search coaching" with both the #BrandOfYou and #53Enter hashtags.
"I have been honored to be a part of Fifth Third’s campaign and am so grateful to have received the personalized job coaching from NextJob," said Gina Harrison, the job seeker who was featured in the Brand of You campaign advertising that launched in May. "My NextJob career coach, Tara Orchard, helped me immensely, especially with interview preparation and how to market my skills. Largely because of her help, I am now working full-time in my field of corporate wellness."
Adam DiCicco, another millennial job seeker who was unemployed for more than six months, agrees. "The role of the job coach and the process of defining your personal brand is the key aspect for millennials embarking on a job hunt in today's market," DiCicco said. "The coaches at NextJob had the skills and knowledge to help me effectively leverage and market my personal brand. I was unemployed for more than six months after graduation and then found exactly the right job for me in under 10 weeks with their help."
The campaign extension will feature additional Twitter events for recent graduates. The events provide real-time feedback to job seekers from career coaches at NextJob. The dates for those events are August 5, 2015 from 1-5 p.m. ET and August 12, 2015, from 1-5 p.m. ET.
The campaign site, www.53.com/BrandOfYou, provides access to some of NextJob’s comprehensive job search training tools to help job seekers develop a personal brand and learn valuable job search techniques. Users can access tools to create a standout resume with free templates and utilize the site’s headshot creator with professional selfie tips from portrait photographer, Peter Hurley.
