Fifth Third Bank River Bank Run

River Bank Run

The bank founded the Fifth Third River Bank Run in 1977 to bring economic vitality to Western Michigan.

The race has become the nation's largest 25K road race, with 21,000 participants and 40,000 spectators from 40 states and 5 countries, and has been the site of the 25K USA National Championships for Men and Women since 1995. Seeing another opportunity to improve the lives of our customers and communities, Fifth Third Bank even pioneered the River Bank Run Feelin' Good Mileage Club, an incentive-based program that motivates kids to stay active.

Each year tourism produces nearly $2 million in revenue for area merchants. And, since 2009, the Fifth Third River Bank Run has brought in nearly $1.25 million in charitable contributions to Michigan-based non-profit organizations. This year the official charity is Stand Up To Cancer. SU2C will receive $1 from every paid entry into the race, as well as contributions from event participants.
