Financial Literacy for Teens
Fifth Third Bank is acutely aware of how crucial it is to expose and teach teenagers personal finance before they reach adulthood and enter the worlds of college and careers.
To accomplish this, the Bank formed an alliance with Dave Ramsey to sponsor the teaching of his Foundations in Personal Finance curriculum in high schools. One of our foundational L.I.F.E. initiatives, Dave Ramsey's program for high school juniors has reached more than 600,000 students thanks to Fifth Third's sponsorship.
We also sponsor a variety of other programs throughout our footprint, including Teach Children to Save, a program of the American Bankers Association (ABA)'s Education Foundation and Junior Achievement. Our goal is to expose students to essential information and provide tools that equip them to be financially successful as they embark on their adult lives.
To celebrate National Financial Literacy Month Dave Ramsey is inviting high school students to test their personal finance knowledge by taking the Financial Literacy Challenge at 53schools.com from April 7 – 24. Students who score 100 percent on the quiz are eligible to win prizes, including one full-ride college scholarship for a high school senior.
