Hardship Options Modifications

Modifications

If you are struggling to make payments or fear you may fall behind due to a recent change in your financial situation, a loan modification may help you get back on track.

Fifth Third will evaluate your eligibility under several modification programs, including the Home Affordable Modification as part of the federal Making Home Affordable Program. If we find that you are not eligible for a modification, we'll help you evaluate other workout options.

Do I qualify for a Home Affordable Modification through Fifth Third?

Answer the questions below to find out if you qualify:

  1. Is your mortgage currently with Fifth Third?
  2. Is this a first mortgage?
  3. Is this mortgage on the home you live in?
  4. I have not had a Home Affordable modification on this mortgage before.
    If true, continue.
  5. This mortgage is not a government mortgage loan (i.e., FHA, VA, USDA).
    If true, continue.
  6. Is the amount you owe on your first mortgage less than or equal to:
    • 1 Unit - $729,750
    • 2 Units - $934,200
    • 3 Units - $1,129,250
    • 4 Units - $1,403,400
  7. Are you having trouble paying your mortgage due to a change in interest rate or a financial hardship?
  8. Did you get your current mortgage before January 1, 2009?

If you answered "Yes" or "True" to all of these questions, you may qualify for a Home Affordable Modification.

If you answered "No" or "False" to any of these questions, you do not qualify for the Home Affordable Modification, but we may have other options available to assist you with your credit concerns.
