• For checks, we employ technologically advanced methods for comparing check-paid items against issue information to identify discrepancies and ensure that only the checks you issue are paid.
• For ACH, you determine who has access to your account and what dollar amount they may post to your account.

All suspect items are reported to you promptly through daily email alerts, with details easily accessible via Fifth Third Direct^SM our Internet portal.

You can choose from these Positive Pay variations for added business fraud protection:

• Payee Name Verification. This helps you mitigate risk because we know exactly what your check-and the payee information-should look like.
• Reverse Positive Pay. This service lets you maintain your own list of issued checks and maintain control over check returns. We prepare a file of check information that you may access via Fifth Third Direct. Through this online portal, you can compare our information to your internal records and decide to pay or reverse items.
• Teller-maintained Positive Pay. Tellers at banking centers are authorized to turn away depositors based on verification information you provide.

How ACH Positive Pay works
